J.M.Prahalad is a National Award-winning lyricist, writer and Producer in the Kannada film industry, known for his engaging stories, dialogues and lyrics that have enriched Sandalwood for over two decades. With a repertoire spanning more than 70 films, 8,000+ television episodes, including popular Mayamruga, Dandapindagalu, Seethe, Mahabharatha, etc., 10 Novels and 10 Plays, he stands as one of India`s most versatile storytellers.

He made an early mark with Ammarva Ganda (1997), later earning wide acclaim for his screenplay and dialogues in Shivasainya (1996), Janani Janmabhoomi (1997). His creative range is evident in works like Award-winning Athithi, Beru, Thuthoori, Gurukula (2010), and Manthana (2011). As a writer, he has penned memorable songs since Stunt Master (1996), Hoo Male, Sajani also provided story assistance for the famous Kannada movie Sipayi. Karnataka State Award for Best Lyrics (2017), Karnataka State Award for Best Lyrics (2017).

Expanding into new genres, he recently contributed story, screenplay and dialogue to the horror-thriller Nagavalli Bangale (2025). With enduring contributions across cinema, television and stage, Prahalad remains a respected voice in Kannada storytelling.
