A popular American TV and film actor, Jackie Earle Haley is best known for playing the roles of Moocher in Breaking Away (1979), Kelly Leak in The Band News Bears (1976) and The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978). Having started his career as a director and producer of TV commercials, he made his debut as an actor on the silver screen with The Outside Man (1972). He subsequently appeared in films like The Day of the Locust (1975), Damnation Alley (1977), The Zoo Gang (1985) and Nemesis (1992) before eventually rising to fame with his brilliant performance in Little Children (2006), which won him several laurels and awards including the Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor, National Society of Film Critics Awards for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination at the Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor. His other notable film credits include Dark Shadows (2012), London Has Fallen (2016) and The Dark Tower (2017) an American science fiction western action horror film directed by Nikolaj Arcel.
