An American screenwriter, director, and producer, James DeMonaco, is best known for creating The Purge film franchise, which includes The First Purge (2018). His debut screenplay was the Robin Williams starrer Jack (1996). Prior to The Purge film franchise, he acted as a writer for The Negotiator (1998), Assault on Precinct 13 (2005), and Staten Island (2009). DeMonaco also branched out to television, producing and writing The Kill Point (2007) as well as Crash (2009). His other releases include The Purge (2013), The Purge: Anarchy (2014), The Purge: Election Year (2016), The First Purge (2018) and The Forever Purge (2021).
