James Gray is an American film screenwriter and director who made his directorial debut with Little Odessa (1994), which won the Silver Lion Award at the 51st Venice International Film Festival. His other films including The Yards (2000), We Own the Night (2007) and The Immigrant (2013) received a nomination for The Golden Palm Awards at the Cannes Film Festival. His 2017 directorial venture includes The Lost City of Z starring Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller and Tom Holland.
