James Wong Howe (Howe) was aChinese Americancinematographer and a member of the American Society of Cinematographers(ASC). Howe has worked for over 130 movies. He began his career as an assistant cameraman to Cecil B. deMille, and later became the chief cameraman. Howe won the Academy Award for best cinematography for Hud and The Rose Tattoo. Howe died on July 12, 1976.
