The winner of the AFI Life Achievement Award, a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Awardee, and several other accolades, Jane Fonda is one of the most successful and acclaimed actresses, writer, and fashion model from America. In her glorious career, the veteran superstar has won almost all the major awards a film artist can possibly win including two BAFTA Award Winner, two Academy Award, and four Golden Globe Awards.

Having started her career as a theatre artist, she made her Broadway debut with There Was a Little Girl in 1960, she immediately rose to fame and won two Tony Award nominations. She later showcased her brilliant acting prowess with stellar performances in feature films such as Period of Adjustment (1962), Walk on the Wild Side (1962), Cat Ballou (1965), and Barbarella (1968).

The legendary star was interested in acting since she was a child and after dropping out of Vassar, she went to Paris for two years to study acting. After returning to the US in 1958, she met the American film legend Lee Strasberg and her brief meeting with the iconic filmmaker changed her life forever. Having made her debut on the silver screen with Tall Story in 1960, over the years, in her illustrious career she starred in more than 40 films. Some of her most notable film credits include Period of Adjustment (1962), The Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969), Klute (1971), Julia (1977), Old Gringo (1989), Stanley & Iris (1990).

Post-1990, Fonda took a break from acting and she spent most of her doing philanthropic works and working for environmental causes before eventually returning on the silver screen with Monster-in-Law in 2005. Since her comeback, she has starred in films like Better Living Through Chemistry (2014), Our Souls at Night (2017) and Book Club (2018), an American romantic comedy directed by debutant director Bill Holderman.

Apart from being a stage, film and TV actress, Fonda is also known for her charity works. She has been associated with several philanthropic causes and she has been relentlessly working for the better of the underprivileged and providing education for the youth, education and also for the betterment of adolescent reproductive health. The super talented actress has also released a book, My Life So Far in 2005, which is her autobiography. The book chronicles her life in three acts and each act covers three decades.
