Jean Stapleton was an American film actress, who made her debut with Presents (1952) but she came into the limelight when she appeared as Edith Bunker in the TV series All in the Family. She is also the recipient of three Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes. Her other notable films include The Buddy System (1984), Michael (1996) and You`ve Got Mail (1998). Her last release includes Pursuit of Happiness (2001). She passed away in May 2013.
