Jeffrey Wright is an American film, television and stage actor. He began his acting career with an off-Broadway in New York and Washington DC. His first major role was in the film Presumed Innocent (1990) opposite Harrison Ford.
Jeffrey gained recognition with the critically acclaimed film Basquiat (1996) where he portrayed the role of painter Jean-Michel Basquiat. Some of his notable works include Celebrity (1998), Ride with the Devil (1999), Shaft (2000), Boycott (2001), Westworld (2016) and many more. Jeffrey starred as Felix Leiter in Casino Royale (2006), which he later reprised in Quantum of Solace (2008). He was also cast as Beetee in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013). His other projects include The Hunger Games: Mocking Jay (2015), The Good Dinosaur (2015), Game Night (2018).
Apart from films, Jeffrey is also known for his roles in television shows.His performance in HBO`s award-winning adaption of Angels in America won him an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award. He currently appears as Dr. Valentin Narcisse in the popular TV series Boardwalk Empire.
Jeffrey is also a Tony Award-winning theater actor and some of his theatrical works include This Is How It Goes and Blood Knot.
