Jishnu Dasgupta is the bass guitarist and artist manager for acclaimed folk rock band Swarathma. Armed with degrees from an NIT and XLRI, Jishnu was set for a corporate career in marketing until he caught the music bug. Swarathma is genre-defining, home grown act, having played hundreds of shows to thousands of people in the country and around the world. Their music is Indian folk blended with contemporary rock, blues and reggae. But what makes their music special is the issues and subjects they sing about - from river conflicts to politics, from personal journeys to celebrations of love. While describing their music, Rolling Stone Magazine called it the sound of guitar, bass, drums and India, and their latest single Mushkil Mein Jeena made it to the Apple Music list of the top 100 songs of 2020.
