Joe Don Baker is an American actor best known for his roles as Mafia hitman in Charley Varrick and his breakthrough role Tennessee Sheriff Buford Pusser in Walking Tall. His various film credits include Cool Hand Luke, That Certain Summer, and The Distinguished Gentleman. He won the Independent Spirit Award for the film ‘Mud’ in 2014. He is also the lifetime member of the Actors Studio.
