About
Popularly known for films like Halloween and Escape from New York, John Carpenter is an American filmmaker, screenwriter, musician, and composer. John`s first full-length film as a director was Dark Star (1974). The film was made on a shoestring budget and did well at the ticket counters. After that, he made a couple of low-budget films and all of them had a decent run. In 1978, he wrote the screenplay of Eyes of Laura Mars produced by Columbia Pictures and was the first major studio film of his career. The same year, he directed Halloween which made him an overnight sensation in Hollywood. John`s next two films The Fog (1980) and Escape from New York (1981) were huge money-spinners. He also directed the second and third installment of the Halloween series. His other notable films are The Thing (1982), Christine (1983), and Starman (1984). His 2018 projects include Halloween, the eleventh installment in the Halloween film series.
