Born in South Korea, John Cho is an actor and musician. He moved to Los Angeles and attended Herbert Hoover High School and graduated from University of California. After working as a teacher and performing with the East West Players theatre group, Cho began acting with small roles in films like Wag the Dog (1997) and Bowfinger (1999). He went on star in films like American Pie (1999), American Pie 2 (2001), Big Fat Liar (2002) and Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle (2004). Apart from films, he has also been a part of television series like Off Centre, Kitchen Confidential, How I Met Your Mother, Sleepy Hollow, The Mindy Project and New Girl (2016). He played the role of Sulu in Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), His 2020 release includes The Grudge, directed by Nicolas Pesce.
