John Houseman was a Romanian-born British–American actor and film producer who is notable for the film, The Paper Chase for which he won an Oscar for Best Supporting actor. He started his career in the theatre as a director to an opera Four Saints in Three Acts. Later he moved to Hollywood as a producer and eventually became an actor. His noted films are The Fog, Rollerball and Three Days of the Condor. He died at the age of 86.
