A Veteran of Dreamworks PDI, John Stevenson is a British animation filmmaker, director, and puppeteer, known for his work in 2008 feature film Kung Fu Panda, which he co-directed with Mark Osborne. He also won an Annie award for Directing in a Feature Production.

A career spanning over 40 years, Stevenson started off as a story artist, Jim Henson's The Muppet Show being his first.

He has worked as a story artist for numerous feature films, including The Great Muppet Caper, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal and Little Shop of Horrors. He has also designed characters in the films such as The Dreamstone, Count Duckula, The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, Back to the Future: The Animated series, and FernGully 2: The Magical Rescue.

He has worked as an art director in the film Back to the Future: The Animated Series and as a puppeteer in James & the Gaint Peach in various capacities.

Under the banner of DreamWorks Amination, Stevenson has worked in various capacities in the art department of films such as Shrek, Shrek 2, Madagascar, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas and primetime show Father of the Pride.

His other directorial credits include the sequel of Gnomeo & Juliet titled Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes.
