The son of yesteryear television producer, writer and actor James Komack, Jonathon Komack Martin ventured into Hollywood as an associate producer in the crime thriller Night of the Running Man (1995). He has since been associated with the production of over a dozen movies and several TV shows, notable among which are the comedy Held Up (1999), the thriller film Tangled (2001) and the romantic comedy Van Wilder (2002).

Among Martin's more recent film credits as an executive producer are the fantasy black comedy The Change-Up (2011), the superhero movie Deadpool (2015) and its sequel Deadpool 2 (2018).
