Jonathan Coyne is an English actor who is best known for playing the role of Warden Edwin James on Alcatraz (2012). Coyne received his calling towards acting quite early in his life when he performed the leading role in two school plays, Hang of the Gaol and Chariot of the Sun. The rave reviews he received encouraged him to study in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and he was honoured with the Hannam Clarke Award upon his graduation. He made his television debut with the 1990 show London's Burning, and moved on to star in the mini-series Gulliver's Travels (1996), as well as made guest appearances in EastEnders, Pulling and The Bill.

In 2003, he was cast in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, following which he featured in The Nutcracker in 3D, Would You Rather (2012), The Hangover Part III (2013), and Nightcrawler (2014), among others. His television career also reached new heights leading to him getting featured Mom (2014-17), Gotham (2015), Once Upon a Time (2016), and The Blacklist (2017). His 2018 projects include the television series Preacher and The Nun.
