In a showbiz career spanning around four decades, Joseph M. Caracciolo Jr. has been associated with the production of around fifty feature films in various capacities. He began his showbiz journey as a prop master, working in acclaimed movies like Ragtime (1981), Deathtrap (1982), The Verdict (1982) and Ghost Busters (1984) early on in his career.
In the late 1980s, Caracciolo Jr. ventured into production. The drama film Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), the crime comedy Serial Mom (1994) and the spy comedy The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997) are some of his notable earlier movie credits as an executive producer. More recently, the veteran producer bankrolled the comedy-drama The Devil Wears Prada (2006), the comedy Date Night (2010), the superhero movie The Wolverine (2013), its sequel Logan (2017), the swashbuckler fantasy Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017) and the fantasy mystery movie Pokemon Detective Pikachu (2019).
