In a film career spanning over three decades, Joy Badlani has appeared in around two-hundred movies in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Bengali cinema; primarily in minor supporting roles. The Mohanlal starrer Vandanam (1989), His Highness Abdullah (1999) and the Mammootty starrer Dhruvam (1993) are some of his earlier film credits.

The Rajinikanth starrer Padaiyappa (Tamil), Wanted (Bengali), Mahesh Babu`s Dookudu (Telugu), the Vijay starrer Thuppakki (Tamil) and Akshay Kumar`s Gold (Hindi) are some of Joy`s other notable film credits in other languages. More recently, he was seen in the movies Allu Ramendran (2019), Kavacha (2019) and Maharshi (2019).
