Julie Kirkwood is a DOP who graduated in photographic studies with a speciality in film stills. Starting her career working as a cinematographer for the short film Come Nightfall, which was screened at the Sundance film festival in 2003. Since then, there was no looking back for Kirkwood and her film Journey from the Fall was awarded the MIFF award during the Milano International Film Festival Awards in 2006. She was also honoured with Emerging Cinematographer (EC) award for Watchtower and is also the author of Oz Perkins horrors Evil in me (2015) and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016). As of 2019, she is associated with Destroyer.
