Vijaya is a veteran Indian actress who is noted for her works in the South Indian film Industry, especially in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada cinema. The actress, who has worked with almost all the stalwarts of the South Indian film industry was immensely popular during the 1960`s and the 70`s. The superstar actress who made her debut on the silver screen with a small role in Thanga Ratinam (1960) played her first lead role in Karpagam (1963) and over the years, in her illustrious career worked in more than 320 films and 10 TV series across different languages.
