An Indian scriptwriter and author, Kanika Dhillon started her career in Bollywood as a script supervisor for Shah Rukh Khan`s production company Red Chillies Entertainment. She served as an assistant director in Om Shanti Om (2008) as well as a script supervisor for Billu (2009). After gaining considerable experience, Dhillon wrote two television serials which includes Ghar Ki Baat Hai (2009) and Ishaan: Sapno ko awaaz de (2010-2011).

Dhillon eventually wrote her book Bombay Duck Is A Fish in 2011, a satire on the Bollywood industry which was very well received by critics and audiences alike. The same year, Dhillon served as a screenwriter for Ra.One and moved further to write the screenplay for the bilingual Telugu-Tamil film Size Zero (2015). Since then, she has released two books called Shiva & The Rise of The Shadows (2013) and The Dance of Durga (2016). Her 2018 projects include Manmarziyaan and Kedarnath. Her 2019 release includes Judgemental Hai Kya and Guilty. Her notable works include Haseen Dillruba (2021), Rashmi Rocket (2021), Ek Villain Returns (2022), Raksha Bandhan (2022) and Dunki (2023).
