Early Life: Kanu Behl is an Indian film writer and director born on 13 June 1980. Behl spent his early years in Patiala, Punjab before moving to Delhi in 1990. Both his parents are writer-actor-directors and also directed telefims for Doordarshan. He studied at Apeejay School, Noida and sought a Bachelors Degree in Business from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University. He joined the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in 2004 and pursued a PG Diploma in Cinema. While at the Institute, he attended the Berlinale Talent Campus 2007 and made his documentary `An Actor Prepares`. The documentary entered competitively at Cinma du Rel 2007, a documentary film festival in France.
Career highlights: After graduating from SRFTI, he directed as well as produced documentaries for international channels like NHK, Japan and ZDF/Arte. He started his career as assistant director to Dibakar Banerjee for the film Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008). He was also the co-writer and assistant director of the critical acclaimed LSD: Love Sex aur Dhokha (2010). Kanu now has the film, Titli lined up, which will release in October 2015.
