Karthik Mallur is a professional cinematographer and filmmaker known for his strong visual sensibility, distinctive lighting style, and dedication to storytelling through the lens. With a deep interest in lighting, composition, and cinematic language, he has steadily built his journey in the film industry by balancing technical precision with creative expression.

With a keen interest in photography and graphic design, he began his career as a graphic designer at an advertising agency, working with well-known brands such as Titan, Timex, and Arvind Mills. During this time, he developed a strong interest in the technical aspects of filmmaking, which led him to pursue a career in cinematography while earning a master's degree in Advertising and Media Management from United Business Institutes, Brussels.

Karthik's journey as a cinematographer began in the Kannada film industry, and he later expanded his work to Tulu and Tamil cinema before entering Bollywood. He has received several accolades, including the SMIFA Award, NexGn International Award, and Red FM Award for Best Cinematography, and was also nominated at the Critics' Choice Awards.

His Bollywood career began as a Director of Photography on the film The Y. He also worked on one of the most-watched series on ZEE5, Mukhbir - The Story of a Spy. Among his notable projects, Mercy is a family drama that explores the sensitive and morally complex theme of euthanasia. Another significant work, Shree Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, is a biographical film that chronicles the extraordinary life and spiritual legacy of the revered Indian saint Neem Karoli Baba.
