Award-winning American actress Katherine Marie Helmond was popularly known for her work in theater, television, and films. Apart from being a successful actor, she also donned the hat of a director for several TV shows. In her career that spanned over five decades, she won several awards including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy for her role as Jessica Tate on the ABC soap opera Soap (1977 - `81). She also essayed the character Mona Robinson on Who`s the Boss and won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress - Series, Miniseries or Television in 1989. Her movie credits include Lady in White (1988) for which she was nominated for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress, Amore! (1993), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), and Collaborator (2011). Helmond also voiced the character of Lizzie in the Cars movie series: Cars (2006), Cars 2 (2011), and Cars 3 (2017). In February 2019, at the age of 89, she passed away.
