Since his Sandalwood debut in the 2003 film Kariya, lyricist has penned over thousand songs for hundreds of Kannada movies. Along the way, he has also won multiple Filmfare Awards and SIIMA Awards for his work in movies like Aptharakshaka (2010) and Sanju Weds Geetha (2011).

In 2016, the accomplished lyricist made his directorial debut with the well-received romantic comedy Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole, which starred Suraj Gowda and Amulya in the lead roles. Other significant movie credits in recent times as a songwriter include the action thriller Mass Leader (2017), the romantic drama Premabaraha (2018) and Kavacha (2019) and Kalidasa Kannada Meshtru (2019).
