Personal Life
Grammer married Doreen Alderman, a dance instructor, in 1982, and the couple's first daughter, Spencer Grammer, was born on October 9, 1983. Spencer is also an actress and has worked on the CBS soap opera As the World Turns and the TV show Greek, aired on ABC. Grammer’s first marriage lasted for eight years, from 1982 to 1990. However, the couple remained separated during the last six years of their marriage. He then dated the makeup stylist, Barrie Buckner, and has a daughter with her named, Kandace Greer Grammer.

In 1992, he married the former exotic dancer Leigh-Anne Csuhany, however, when Csuhany was three months pregnant he filed for an annulment. Their marriage lasted for a year with Grammer claiming that Csuhany was abusive and also fired a gun at him. The following year, in 1993, Grammer started dating Tammy Baliszewski aka Tammy Alexander and the couple soon announced their engagement. However, owing to Grammer's substance abuse, they separated in 1995.

In 1996, Grammer met the former Playboy model Camille Donatacci, on a blind date and the couple got married the next year. Their marriage last for 15 years before Donatacci filed for a divorce in 2010, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple's first child, a daughter, Mason Olivia, was born on 24th October 2001, and their son Jude Gordon was born on 28th August 2004 – both their kids are born to a surrogate mother.

After his divorce with Donatacci, he dated Kayte Walsh, a British flight attendant, who is 25 years younger to him. In 2010, he also announced that he was expecting his fifth child through Walsh, however, Walsh miscarried six weeks into her pregnancy. A year later, on February 25, 2011, the couple got married at The Plaza Hotel in New York City – this happened two weeks after his third divorce. In July 2012 Welsh gave birth to their first child, a daughter, Evangeline Elisa and a couple of years later their second child, a son Kelsey Gabriel Elias was born in 2014. Later in the 1980s he worked at the Guthrie Theater in Minnesota and in the following year also made his Broadway debut in Macbeth; portraying the character of Lennox. However, Grammer soon replaced Phillip Anglim, who was portraying the lead character, as he received negative comments. It was Grammer's Broadway co-star and schoolmate, Mandy Patinkin, who suggested the casting director that he cast Grammer for the role in Cheers. Soon, Grammer was cast in the show but his role initially was supposed to be only a six-episode stint, however, he ended up being cast for the entire season. The success of his character in Cheers eventually gave birth to the spin-off TV series Fraiser. The TV series that ran for 11 years went on to become one of the most successful spin-off TV series in TV history, winning several awards.

Post the success of Fraiser, Grammer acted and produced 'The Sketch Show', which was an adaptation of the British TV show. Malcolm Barrett, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kaitlin Olson, and Paul F. Tompkins lined up the main cast of the show. With only six episodes shot, only four were aired and the show was canceled soon after. Following this, his next two appearances in TV shows didn't failed miserably. He first appeared in the 2007 American sitcom Back to You, which was canceled by Fox after the first season, and later Grammer was a part of ABC's HANK which was a bigger disappointment. In his next TV series, titled Boss, Grammer essayed the character Richard J. Daley, and he also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in Television Series Drama for his role in Boss in the year 2012.
