After gaining widespread recognition on television after participating in the reality stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Khayali ventured into the film industry, mostly playing comic roles. Making his debut, he was seen in the 2007 movie Journey Bombay to Goa: Laughter Unlimited, post which he made appearances in other movies such as Singh Is Kinng, Meri Padosan, Rukke Padge, Maru Dhar Maro Ghar, and Jatt vs IELTS.
