Filmmaker and screenwriter Kirtan Patel is known primarily for penning and directing the acclaimed Gujarati film Bas Ek Chance (2015), which told the story of the trials and tribulations faced by an aspiring young filmmaker. In 2018, Kirtan made his sophomore directorial outing with the drama film Back Bencher, which was co-written by Prayag Dave, Sumit Vajrani and Rajesh Rajgor.
