Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, better known by his stage name of Krishnam Raju, is a veteran Indian actor known mainly in the Telugu film industry. He debuted with Chilaka Gorinka (1966). He went on to act in films like Bhale Abbayilu (1969), Bangaru Talli (1971), Mathru Murthi (1972) and Palle Paduchu (1974) which was a commercial success. A few of his other notable works include Kurukshetra (1977), Manchi Manasu (1978), Prema Tarangalu (1980), Trisulam (1983), Tandra Paparayudu (1986) and Simha Swapnam (1989). Krishnam Raju was also seen in Palnati Pourusham (1994), Maa Nannaki Pelli (1997) and Sultan (1999). He then took a sabbatical from the industry, only to make a smashing comeback with the commercially successful Billa (2009). He was subsequently seen in Rebel (2012) and Rudhramadevi (2015). His 2017 release includes The Return of Rebel 2. Directed by Meher Ramesh, the drama film stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, and Hansika Motwani in the lead.
