One of the most prominent American stand-up comedians, Daniel Lawrence Whitney, popularly known by his stage name, Larry the Cable Guy is also an actor, country music artist, and former radio personality. Beginning his career in the 1990s, Whitney made regular radio appearances and found limited success with his stand-up comedy. It was only after he penned the character Larry that he started gaining recognition and eventually adapted it as a stage name. Whitney has published several comedy albums and has appeared in movies such as Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector (2004), Delta Force (2007), Tooth Fairy 2 (2012), and Jingle All the Way 2 (2014), which was a direct-to-video movie. He has also voiced the character of Master in the Cars franchise: Cars (2006), Cars 2 (2011), and Cars 3 (2017).
