Known for his energetic performances and perfect comic timings, late actor Laxmikant Berde was known as one of the best comedian stars in Marathi and Hindi films. He won several accolades for participating in inter-school and college drama competitions, which encouraged him to pursue acting. Berde started his career with theater and appeared in the stage drama, Mumbai Marathi Sahitya Sangh. He soon followed it up with the successful play Tour Tour, where his comic timings was recognized and highly appreciated by the audience. Laxmikant established his trademark style of humor with the super hit films Dhoom Dadaka (1985) and De Danadan (1987) which made him an overnight sensation. He career gain momentum after delivering a string of box office successes like Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi (1988), Hamaal De Dhamaal (1989), Balache Baap Brahmachari (1989) and Zapatlela (1993). Laxmikant made his Hindi film debut with Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) alongside Salman Khan. His other popular Hindi films include Saajan (1991), Beta (1992), Anari (1993), Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994) and Mere Sapno Ki Rani (1997). Apart from acting, Laxmikant was a well trained ventriloquist and guitar player. He also launched his production house, Abhinay Arts. Laxmikant`s last film was Pachhadlela (2004) that released before his untimely death on 16th December, 2004.
