An American writer and editor, Lea Carpenter made her debut with her novel Eleven Days (2013) which was well-received by readers and critics alike. Carpenter worked in literary publishing for ten years. Prior to her literary success, Carpenter was the founding editor of Francis Ford Coppola`s literary magazine, Zoetrope and worked on John F. Kennedy, Jr.`s George magazine. The author was also a deputy publisher of The Paris Review as well as the managing editor of Lipper/Atlas publishers. She is making her feature film debut as a writer with Mile 22.
