Lekh Tandon (Lekh), born on February 13, 1929 in Lahore (Pakistan), is an Indian film and television director and actor. His father, F. C. Tandon had been a friend with Prithviraj Kapoor. Lekh started his career as an Assistant Director and made his directorial debut with Professor, in 1962, followed by Amrapali, Jhuk Gaya Aasman, Prince, Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye etc. Ritz made his directorial debut with TV show Phir Wahi Talash and was credited with discovering Shahrukh Khan by casting him in Dil Dariya. Ritz acted in several movies such as Swades, Paheli, Rang De Basanti etc. He made his acting debut on TV with the show Sumit Sambhal Lega. In 1978, Ritz shared the Filmfare Best Screenplay Award for his movie, Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye and his biopic, Amrapali, was India`s submission to the 39th Academy Awards for the Best Foreign Language Film. His 2019 release includes Phir Ussi Mod Par Talaq.
