Born as Lily Chloe Ninette James, English actress Lily James studied acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. After finishing her graduation, she started off on the small screen in the British television series Just William (2010), followed by Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2011). She was seen in a supporting role in the period drama series Downton Abbey (2012-2015).

In 2015, James gave her breakthrough performance in the fantasy film Cinderella, where she plays the eponymous role of Cinderella. Later, the actress went on to act in the television series War & Peace (2016) and films Baby Driver (2017) and Darkest Hour (2017), both of which were commercially and critically successful. Her other projects include film the sequel of Mamma Mia! (2008), Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018) and Yesterday (2019).
