Lindsay Duncan is a Scottish actress. Her inclination towards acting began when she was in school. She joined the Central School of Speech and Drama at the age of 21 after which she landed small roles in TV shows and stage productions. Over the years, she has done a variety of work ranging from film and stage to television. Some of her best performances have been in the movies The Reflecting Skin (1990), Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) and Alice in Wonderland (2010). She won the prestigious Tony Award for her stage performances in plays such as Private Lives and Les Liasons. Lindsay`s performances in noted TV shows such as Agatha Christie`s Poirot (2005), Doctor Who (2009), White Heat (2012), and Sherlock (2014) have been widely appreciated by audiences all over the world. Her more recent ventures include Birdman (2014), Gifted (2017), Blackbird (2019) and Made in Italy (2020).
