In June 2002, Luc Besson was placed under investigation by a Paris prosecutor on the charges of involuntary manslaughter of a cameraman who was hit by a car during the shooting of a chase scene in Taxi 2 (2002), which was produced by him. Luc Besson was appointed as the President of the ‘Official Competition’ jury at the 53rd Cannes International Film Festival in 2000. As a child, Luc Besson wanted to become a marine biologist, however, in an unfortunate accident that occurred when he was 17-years-old prevented him from being in water. Luc Besson has written four children’s book which is called the Arthur series. The series has sold more than one million copies across 30 countries. The director later adapted the book series into films.
