Since venturing into the world of cinema in the early 1990s, Lucas Bielan has served as an assistant cameraman and camera operator in several acclaimed international films, among which are the biographical drama Chaplin (1992), the Tom Hanks starrer Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Public Enemies (2009), the Tom Cruise starrer Oblivion (2013), the James Bond film Spectre (2015) and the Oscar-winning survival drama Life of Pi (2012). His work in Life of Pi earned Bielan a nomination for British Society of Cinematographers GBCT Operators Award in 2013.
Besides these, Bielan has also helmed the camera department as an independent cinematographer in a handful of movies, notable among which are the Polish crime thriller A Grain of Truth (2015) and the Indian film Love Sonia (2018).
