M. Ranga Rao (Rao) a.k.a. M RangaRao, was a well-known music director, director and line producer in Indian film industry. Rao contributed as music director for Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam movies. He was married to Syamala and had two sons and two daughters. Some of the movies associated with him are Prana Snehitha, Giri Mallige, Sotu Geddavalu, etc. He had been conferred the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Music Director thrice in the year 1969, 1982 and 1984 respectively.
