Mae Margaret Whitman is an American voice artist and actress, notably known for her television roles. Whitman first appeared in a Tyson Chicken commercial at the age of 3. Her first role was as the President`s daughter in Independence Day (1996). She then appeared in The Gingerbread Man (1998), Jingle Bells(1999) and An American Rhapsody (2001), for which she won a Best Artist Award for Best Ensemble in a feature film. She lent her voice for Shanti in Jungle Book 2 (2003), and appeared in CSI (2004). Whitman`s other serials include Arrested Development, Grey`s Anatomy (2007), Family Guy (2008-present) and American Dad (2013-2014). She had a brief appearance in the critical success, Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), winning her a San Diego Film Critics Society Award for Best Performance. Her upcoming film is The Duff , which is slated to release in June 2015.
