Mahendra Soni is an Indian film producer, distributor and the co-founder of Shree Venkatesh Films - one of the largest media and entertainment houses of eastern India. Since the establishment of the company in 1996, Soni, along with his partner Shrikant Mohta, has produced and distributed hundreds of films, including mainstream blockbusters and internationally acclaimed art house films. Of these, the 2003 Bengali film Chokher Bali, the 2004 bollywood film Raincoat and the 2010 English drama film Memories in March have won National Film Awards. Besides these, Soni has also produced several popular prime-time television shows like Bojhena Se Bojhena and Janmantar. Other notable production credits include films like Pratibad (2001), Autograph (2010), Baishe Srabon (2011), Meghe Dhaka Tara (2013), Rajkahini (2015), Har Har Byomkesh (2015), Cinemawala (2016) and Yeti Obhijaan (2017) and Bolo Dugga Mai Ki (2017), a Bengali-language drama directed by Raj Chakraborty. In 2018 his release includes Asche Abar Shabor starring Saswata Chatterjee and Subhrajit Dutta in prominent roles, directed by Arindam Sil. He is also associated with the 2018 Bengali drama Total Dadagiri directed by Pathikrit Basu, starring Yash Dasgupta and Mimi Chakraborty. His other releases includes Dracula Sir (2020) and Tangra Blues (2021).
