Having enthralled the audiences all across the globe with her performances, Malabika Sen is one of the most skilled and celebrated Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi dancers of India. She started her formal training in Kuchipudi from Sreemoyee Venkat and soon emerged as one of the leading Kuchipudi dancers of the country. She got empaneled with the I.C.C.R. as a Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi solo artiste. Presently, the Assistant Director of Kalamandalam and the leading member of Kalamandalam Performing Wing, Sen is recognized as the most prominent disciple of her Guru Smt. Thankamani Kutty. She has virtually performed live in almost all major platforms in India and abroad with great success and distinction.
In addition, she has also starred in many television series, including Tumi Robe Nirobe, Taranath Tantrik, Bhakter Bhagaban Shri Krishna and Bikele Bhorer Phool. Later, she in the movies like, Posto (2017), followed by Bhagshesh (2018).
A gifted singer by birth, Sen has formally trained herself in North Indian Classical Vocal Music and Najrulgeeti under the tutelage of Dr. Chameli Sarkar and has also learnt North Indian Semi-Classical Vocal Music from Smt. Rama Basu. Her singing credits include 'Na Jeo Na', Eto Boro Akash', Lag Ja Gale', and 'Meri Jaan'. She has also rendered the song Shunno Amar E Anchol' in her film Bhagshesh.
