As Assamese film actress, Malaya Goswami has been a part of the industry since the early 1980s, making her debut as an actress with the 1985 drama Sarbajan. Following her debut, she was seen playing a supporting role the same year in the Bhabendra Nath Saikia-directed Agnisnaan. Mainly seen playing supporting roles, Malaya has other Assamese movies such as Firingoti, Konikar Ramdhenu, Rong, and Calendar to her credit.
