Malhar Bhatt Joshi`s debut movie as a cinematographer - Soggadu (2005), a Telugu movie -opened to critical and commercial appreciation. His next venture, Srihari Nanu`s Satyabhama (2007), was reportedly inspired by the successful Hollywood movie 50 First Dates. Three years later, Joshi worked on the movie Seeta Ramula Kalyanam (2010), starring Nitin and Hansika Motwani, which was an average grosser at the box office. The year 2011 saw two releases for Joshi viz. Veedu Theda and Priyudu.

Joshi, who has predominantly worked in the Telugu film industry, was also part of the 2017 movie Aake directed by K.M. Chaitanya and Meenakshi directed by Sridhar. His 2019 release includes Sarovaram, directed by Suresh Yadavalli.
