Manali Dey is a Bengali film and television actress who made her industry debut as a child artist in the 1999 film Kali Aamar Maa, under the direction of Shantilal Soni. Nine years later, she ventured into the television industry with the TV serial Neer Bhanga Jhor aired on Star Jalsha. In the following year, she came to films with the science fiction Rajdrohi, directed by Tapan Banerjee. She then went on to be a part of the 2016 film Praktan starring Prosenjit Chatterjee and Rituparna Sengupta in the lead roles. Directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, the movie turned out to be a huge box office success. She is known for her performances as one of the lead characters Ishani Roy in the soap opera Sokhi, and also that of a simple village girl Mouri in Star Jalsha`s Bou Kotha Kao.
She has also featured in serials such as Checkmate, Bhule Jeona Please, Bhutu and Mahanayak. Not only this, she was also popular for being a part of the reality show Bigg Boss Bangla 3. Her 2017 movie venture includes the drama Baranda, which depicts the complexity of human relationships through the lives of two people. Her 2018 release includes Kuasha Jakhon. His 2019 release includes Buddhu Bhutum, directed by Nitish Roy.
