Manish Gupta is an Indian writer and director. He started his career as a scriptwriter. His first film as a scriptwriter was the hit film Sarkar (2005). Riding high on the success of the film, he also penned the scripts for the films D (2005) and James (2005). Manish`s first directorial debut was Darna Zaroori Hai (2006). He later directed films like The Stoneman Murders (2009), Hostel (2011) and Rahasya (2015). His 2019 release includes Section 375.
