Mark Burton is a British screenwriter who specialises in comedy. Burton had a successful career in radio and television before venturing into screenwriting for films. He, along with John O`Farrell, contributed to many shows at BBC Radio`s Light Entertainment Department. The duo co-wrote for shows like Spitting Image (1987-1991), Murder Most Horrid (1996), Room 101 (1995-1997). Burton went on to do scriptwriting for notable movies like
Madagascar (2005),
Aliens in the Attic (2009) and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005), which won an Oscar. Along with writer and director Richard Starzak, Burton co-wrote and directed the stop-motion animated comedy movie Shaun and the Sheep (2015), which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. In 2019 he returned as a writer for the movie`s sequel
A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, which also went on to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature Film.
