An Indian director prominently known for working in the Telugu film industry, Maruthi Dasari has evolved from humble beginnings. The son of a banana seller, who used to help his father out during lunchtime, he developed an interest in sketching through movie posters. His interest in sketching propelled him towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts, which he completed with a scholarship. Dasari`s debut film was supposed to be Bus Stop, which was shelved due to a lack of funding. He later made his debut in 2012 with the romantic comedy Ee Rojullo, which went on to become a blockbuster and earned him the SIIMA Award for Best Debutant Director.
He eventually made Bus Stop in the latter half of 2012, which he also wrote, after which he moved on to Kotha Janta (2014), wrote and directed Lovers (2014), Bhale Bhale Magadivoy (2015), and Mahanubhavudu (2016). His 2018 releases include Ghajinikanth, Brand Babu, and Shailaja Reddy Alludu.
