Mathieu Amalric is a French actor and filmmaker who is best known internationally for his performance as the lead villain in the James Bond film Quantum of Solace (2008). His performance in Steven Spielberg`s Munich drew critical acclaim. In 2007, he starred in the critically acclaimed movie Le Scaphandre et le Papillon, to critical praise. His 2010 film, On Tour, premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and won Amalric the Best Director Award. His other projects include Sound of Metal (2020) and Mother Schmuckers (2021).
