About
German-born British composer Max Richter is an alumnus of London`s prestigious Royal Academy of Music, and first rose to prominence following the release of his landmark debut album Memoryhouse in 2002. Though he had scored the music for movies like Hope (2007) and Henry May Long (2008) early on in his career, it was the 2008 animated war documentary film Waltz with Bashir that brought Richter`s works to international attention for the first time. He won the European Film Award for Best Composer for his work in Waltz with Bashir that year.
The French drama Sarah`s Key (2010), the sci-fi drama Perfect Sense (2011), the Indian romantic drama The Lunchbox (2013), the thriller drama Miss Sloane (2016) and the Western film Hostiles (2017) are some of the significant movie credits in Richter`s filmography. Besides these, several singles from his various albums have been featured in many films. The prolific composer has also scored the music for tv shows like Black Mirror and Taboo, the latter of which earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series in 2017. Other notable film credits include Penelope (2009), Disconnect (2012) and Hostiles (2018), Mary Queen Of Scots (2019) and Ad Astra (2020).
