Founder of Annapurna Pictures, which was established in 2011, Megan Ellison is an American film producer. She made her debut as a producer in 2010 with the drama, Waking Madison. As a producer, Ellison first tasted success with the Coen Brothers western movie, True Grit (2010). Over the years, since the inception of Annapurna Pictures, Ellison has produced critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies like Lawless (2012), The Master (2012), Spring Breakers (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), The Grandmaster (2013), Her (2013), American Hustle (2013), Foxcatcher (2014), Joy (2015), Wiener-Dog (2016), Everybody Wants Some!! (2016), Sausage Party (2016), The Bad Batch (2016), 20th Century Women (2016), Detroit (2017) and Downsizing (2017). In 2017 Ellison produced Paul Thomas Anderson's period drama, Phantom Thread. She has been nominated in the Best Motion Picture of the Year category at the 90th Academy Awards. Previously, Ellison was nominated in the Best Motion Picture of the Year category for Zero Dark Thirty (2012), Her (2013) and American Hustle (2013).
